hmm, I guess I was the first one. Tough one, but I would have to say Dark Knight. I feel like there is a little more hype around DK, also Ledger's presence in the movie will probably help.
There's no way it will surpass Titanic. Even though Dark Knight is, and will continue to be, a huge box office success, it isn't going to attract as broad of an audience as Titanic did.
Plus, without Celine Dion's music, how could Dark Knight possibly compete (completely joking...:)?
I still can't wait to see Dark Knight. It might be on video, but I will see it eventually.
I don't really know, but I said Dark Knight will surpass...but of course once I read the comments here I see I am probably way off. I was thinking it ight go like James Dean or something. The thing is...they attract completely differen viewers. Generally males will not watch Titanic, but although a "male" movie Batman will attract female audiences too. Hmm...I guess Titanic was so huge because of a global audience and repeat audience/viewers.
I voted for Dark Knight, simply because I'm so sick of hearing about Titanic - it's old news - though I did love the soundtrack.
I just wish I could have understood Batman a little better when he was mumbling and rasping his lines!

I guess TDK will surpass Titanic in box office earnings, but it's very unlikely to surpass it in total ticket sales.
I tried to watch Titanic once. Hated it and turned it off.

I agree with Jessica. Heath Ledger's last film? Yes, it's doable.
