Sadly, The 27 Club has a new member. When I found out the news of Amy's death, I literally said "Wow!" Even though I (along with many) could see this coming, for me it's still a shock. You can read more on the life and death of Amy Winehouse here.

I agree, in her case you could see it coming, but it's still an awful and incredibly sad thing to happen. If anything positive can come about this, I'm hoping that people realize that most of those on the "27 Club" list are not only musicians who died at 27. If you look, you will see that there seems to be another commonality...Bipolar Disorder (Manic Depression). I'm working on a column about it, but I'm hoping between Charlie Sheen's issues earlier this year and now Amy's death that there can be some awareness about how serious this illness is.
Jessica: You make an excellent point about the issues of many in the 27 Club. Let me know when you write that column.
Natalie Cole called it back in 2008...sadly. Very talented young woman.
Pjazzy: I didn't know Natalie predicted Amy's death. She would know though because she was on that same road to destruction. Luckily, Natalie was finally able to find a detour.
