Whoo hoo...I was the first to vote!
I chose Joey. When the show first began I thought Joey was a "fill in" kind of character...but eventually I really started to love him.
I once took a quiz, in Cosmo, or something ha ha...about "what Friendc character are you. I was a combo of Joey and Monica. Scary!
Chandler--funny man! I love them all, those actors work so well together! :)
I think I am the only female in the population that just couldn't stand this show and I tried to watch it several times and I never found any of them funny.
This was a hard pick because I'm crazy about all of them, but I picked Joey because he, in my opinion, was the best "Friend" and the most loyal to all of them.
One of my favorite episodes is when Monica gets stung by a jellyfish and Joey pees on her to stop the pain. He turns around and says something like "And I'd pee on any of you, too, if you needed me to." Jr. High humor, but it always makes me laugh ;)
Candy: Would that make you Moey or Jonica?
Jessica: Chandler would get my vote too.
Mistress of the D: Somehow I figured that you would choose the last option in the poll. :-) Although I know there must be guys who are big fans of "Friends", it does seem that the most devoted watchers of the show are female.
The One Where the Rock Chick Rocks the Poll: Now I have to ask... where on Monica's body was the jellyfish sting?
I voted for Phoebe. She never fails to make me laugh. Happy TT!
Chandler BING BING BING BING! He always cracked me up and even Microsoft loved him - didn't they name their new search engine after him??? Hehehehe.
Wow. Nobody likes Monica.
I think it was the combination of being ditsy and a list writer. You know dumb blonde but anal retentive.
X-Dell, actaully...I thought Monica was a very funny device in the show. It doesn't come down to so much as liking or disliking her...but a lot of the humour surrounded her neurosis...her fear of getting fat again, of someone messing up her scrapbooks of plans and decor etc. She was actually kind of a tragic figure in some ways...and her rigid persona was the butt and source of a lot of the gags.
I voted! :)
I agree with Mistress. I hated this show and I just never found it funny. They all just really got under my skin :)
I was more of a Seinfeld gal!
Malcolm: she was stung on her foot :) Picking one of them, though, (my opinion-as a HUGE Friends fan) is really hard because I think it was the group dynamic that made that show.
Jami Gertz was originally offered the role of Monica and she turned it down and I read that Courteney Cox really wanted to portray Rachel. I wonder if the show would have had the same success if that had happened. I don't think so. I think it was the 6 that ended up with the parts that made the show.
Brenda: Thanks for weighing in on this poll.
Pop Art Diva: I didn't even know about MS' new search engine until now. :-)
Penny: lol. I prefer "Seinfeld" too. Even though the "Seinfeld" gang were some of the shadiest characters in sitcom history, they are damn fun to watch.
X. Dell: Monica finally got some love.
Jessica: It is interesting to speculate because another well known performer was up for one of the six roles as well. I may use it as a future trivia question. :-)
