Thursday Thirteen #73: A "Spoiler Free" List of Movies With Awesome Endings

If mishandled, a bad movie ending can spoil what was until then an enjoyable viewing experience. On the other hand, if done right, a movie ending can stick in one's mind and cause people to talk about years after the film was made. Below is a "spoiler free" and eclectic list of movies whose endings are among the best I've seen.

For anyone tempted to say "you forgot (fill in the movie title)", please keep in mind that this is the Thursday Thirteen. There's also the chance that I didn't include a particular film because either I didn't see it or the ending didn't do much for me.

Having said that, please share with us your favorite movie ending(s) in the comments section.

1. All About Eve

2. Antwone Fisher

3. Casablanca

4. Citizen Kane

5. The Departed

6. The Karate Kid

7. An Officer & A Gentleman

8. Say Anything

9. Some Like It Hot

10. Sunset Boulevard

11. Thelma & Louise

12. The Usual Suspects

13. White Heat

Eclectic list, indeed.

I admit that I haven't seen all of these, but "The Departed" was definitely an awesome choice that I wasn't expecting.

Cheers!

Thelma and Louise made me cry. I don't know if that's good or bad. It just HURT so much... that's one movie I try not to think too much about.

The ending of Pulp Fiction is incredible, so that's one I would add to the list.

Happy TT to you!

Gotta love the ending to Thelma and Louise (heck, I even did a t-shirt design based on that ending - I'm not kidding, here it is!)

My TT might surprise you this week, instead of waxing nostalgic about the past I posted 13 Things I DIDN'T like about "the good old days"!

Happy TT, Malcolm.

One could make the argument that parody is the most sincere form of esteem. Based on that, Thelma and Louise, Citizen Kane and Casablanca are shoe-ins.

I agree that I've seen some really good movies utterly ruined by horrible endings. Perhaps that should be a list for another Thursday, huh?

Very creative answer to the Thursday 13 theme. I have to say that I have seen some of the movies on your list of thirteen but others I have not. Guess I will perhaps add them to my Netflix mailings.

Being a photographer I had to pf course use pictures to showcase my Thirteen.

Wishing you a scent-sational day!
