Excellent list! Billy Stewart's version of "Summertime" for the win!
Tina Turner and B-52s in the same list. Nice!
Midnight at the Oasis! How I loved that song! (How my friends made fun of me for loving that song! "Lay your camel to bed," was a much-mocked lyric at my high school.)
Thanks for visiting my TT. As I understand it, those were Cybill Shepherd's legs in the I'm on Fire video. She was filming Moonlighting nearby and ... At least that's the legend.
Yay Boys of Summer!
Hmm, these covers brought back memories. Loved Midnight at the Oasis, even though I was a child when it came out. Think I might have that Boys of Summer on 45! Dag, I'm old (LOL). Love that song though. Also have that Brick album.
Hippie Chick: Thank you! Billy's version of "Summertime" features some of the best scat singing ever committed to vinyl.
Michael: I'm always about being eclectic whenever I can.
The Gal Herself: I just found "Midnight At the Oasis" on You Tube. It's been awhile since I've heard it . That song has quite a groove.
By the way, thanks for the lead on whose legs are in the "I'm On Fire" video. I haven't been able to confirm the legend, maybe I'll have to put a call into The Boss.
Penny Lane: Whenever I think of "Boys of Summer", I'm reminded of the time my former boss went to see the Eagles when they first reunited. He said that they played "Boys of Summer" and the crowd went wild!
Lori: Cool, I didn't know you were down with Don Henley. Do you remember when he appeared on "Soul Train" back in the mid 1980s?
