Answers to Friday Funday Trivia: "Spelling" Test



 

Before getting to the answers, here are the names of the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place finishers this week:

1st place-  Rich, Michelle, and Teresa 52 pts each... excellent  job!
2nd place-  David: 47 pts

1. 2 pts- Charlie's Angels Who were the only 3 characters to stay with this series for its entire run? 1 bonus pt each- Kelly Garrett (Jaclyn Smith), John Bosley (David Doyle), and Charles "Charlie" Townsend (John Forsythe)

3. 2 pts- Melrose Place (this was the original cast before Heather Locklear joined the show)

7. 2 pts- Fantasy Island The character on the right was famous for what 4 word catchphrase? 3 bonus pts (2 extra pts if you spell it the way he pronounced it)- De plane, de plane! Because it turns out that Tattoo's catchphrase is open to interpretation, I gave the 2 extra pts to everyone who at least made an attempt at spelling it the way he pronounced it.

10. 4 pts- Sunset Beach- This daytime soap ran on NBC from 1997 to 1999.  Aaron said "The one with the riches"

11. 3 pts- Hart to Hart What was the name of this couple's pet dog? 4 bonus pts- Freeway (he was named because he was a stray they had rescued when he was found wandering on the freeway)
12. 4 pts- Models, Inc.-This short-lived spinoff from "Melrose Place" starred Linda Gray as the head of a modeling agency and the mother of Amanda Woodward (Heather Locklear).  Aaron said "The one with the bitches"

13. 2 pts- Beverly Hills, 90210
14. 2 pts- B.A.D. Cats- This action/police drama ran for about a month in early 1980.  Along with Vic Morrow,  Jimmie Walker (Good Times) and LaWanda Page ("Aunt Esther" from Sanford & Son), the cast also featured a 21 yr old Michelle Pfeiffer (center in the photo above).  The acronym for the title stood for "Burglary Auto Detail, Commercial Auto Thefts"- Aaron said "The one with the britches"
