The World of "The Most Interesting Man In the World"

Although I don't drink Dos Equis beer, I may start thanks to a series of commercials featuring a gent known only as "The Most Interesting Man In the World". When (or if) I grow up, I wanna be just like this guy! If you've seen these spots, you know that the man is more than worthy of the title. How can you deny a man who lives vicariously... through himself?! I wouldn't be surprised if Chuck Norris came to him for guidance.

Another thing that puts "The Most Interesting Man In the World" in a special category of awesomeness is that he is willing to share his breadth of knowledge with the world. If you click on the Dos Equis link, you can learn not only how to prevent getting a shiv to your ribs in Istanbul, but also why the homing pigeon is The Most Interesting Man in the World's preferred method of dispatch. An approved time waster A good use of your time is a section of the website that tests your skills in such areas as dedication, accuracy, patience and recall. I crossed out the beginning of the last sentence because it is never a waste of time to learn from "The Most Interesting Man In the World".

If you don't think you are quite ready to study under "The Most Interesting Man In the World", but still want to get a glimpse of why he is who he is, you can watch the following spot:

Misleading post title. I was led to believe this was going to be about Eddie Vedder.

I didn't know about these commercials, but now you have me intrigued. Happy TT!

I'm not even kidding when I say I had no idea how to pronounce that until like 6 months ago.

Yeah, I don't get out much.

I've never heard of that beer, but after the day I've had, I think I could use one or two...or a keg!

What is the game they are playing in the beginning of the commercial?

I have to agree with BeckEye. I feel a little misled since I expected Bon Jovi pictures to pop up everywhere! ;)

I like those commercials! Had no idea there was such an informative website available. Going to have to check it out.

I recently saw this commercial. I wasn't really paying attention though. The double Xs are real popular in California, probably more so than Corona.

BeckEye: Sorry for the "mislead". Awhile back when I was thinking of doing a post on Phil Collins (the man who actually wrote Even Flow), I almost used this post title.

By the way, did I ever tell you about my brief encounter with Mr. Vedder at Lollapalooza '92?

Brenda: I've been seeing the commercials quite a bit during the NBA playoffs. If you don't catch them on TV, you can always watch them at the Dos Equis website.

M: It is easier to pronounce than it looks.

Mistress of the D: I hadn't heard of Dos Equis either until I saw these commercials. I read your post about the evilness of your health insurance. I'd say a keg was in order.

Cassie: Thanks for stopping by. The game they are playing at the beginning is called jai alai.

Rock Chick: You and your hair metal fantasies. :-)

I went to the Dos Equis site and got enthralled in the "Mimic the Sounds of Music" game, which tests your recall skills. Here is a pearl of wisdom I just learned, "When your life is a circus, sometimes you must exit the tent".

Pjazzy: I didn't pay much attention to these spots at first either. What made me take notice was when the narrator said that The Most Interesting Man In the World "once had an awkward moment, just to see how it feels". I was like "damn!" lol

He once licked a poisonous frog just to see what it felt like, He once snapped his wife's bra strap just to see what it felt like to get slapped, He once rinsed his toothbrush in the toilet because he felt like it.. he IS the most interesting man in the world ! Stay dense my friend!
