Kristin Chenoweth Gets Gleeful

Over the past few weeks, various bloggers and co-workers have been raving about the new Fox musical comedy series Glee. Based on what I've been hearing, I had planned to give it a look. However, I made sure I didn't miss the September 30th episode because of two words... Kristin Chenoweth. I've been a fan ever since her role as Olive Snook in the brilliant but canceled Pushing Daisies. She's now on my short list (no pun intended) of performers who when I see their name in the credits, I know they alone will make the movie/TV show worth watching.

In the episode of Glee, Kristin guest starred as April Rhodes, a boozy former classmate of Will's with an awesome set of pipes. As expected, Kristin gave her customary kick-ass performance. Below is the clip of her performing the Carrie Underwood song Last Name.

There are talks that Kristin's role on Glee may be recurring (if the producers of the show haven't signed her up for future episodes, they need to get on it yesterday). Even if this is the last we see of Kristin on Glee, I'll be checking it out again. The show sucked me in from the beginning when members of the glee club launched into Journey's Don't Stop Believing. If you want to check out the tunes featured on Glee, you can visit Glee Songs.

I highly recommend you watch last weeks show. I still have "Singles Ladies" stuck in my head...in a good way. I liked last night's show but last week's was better. Hell, I may watch it again tonight! "All the singles ladies, all the single ladies..."

I love, love, love, Glee.
I was hooked at the beginning. That is the only show I will watch while it is actually airing. Everything else is ti-voed and watched later.

I'm so glad you checked it out, and liked it! I agree that you should watch the 9/23 show - heck, catch up with all of them on Hulu! (I think last night was the fifth episode.) I started watching it two weeks ago because Tim was watching it, and had to watch all the previous episodes before the next one was on. :)

I love Glee but I have yet to jump on the Kristen Chenowith fan train. I don't know why, there's something about her that's just off to me.

Kristen Chenowith's singing of "Maybe This Time" was amazing--highly recommended episode. And of course the characters are fun to watch - Coach Sue and Kurt among them.

Kristi: I had thoughts of checking out the episodes I missed. If I don't get to all of them, I will make an extra effort to see last week's... thanks for the tip.

Penny: Wait a minute, you left out one "love" in your opening sentence. :-)

In this day of Tivoing and DVRing, watching a progam live is saying something (in a good way) about the show.

Jessica: lol

BookMama: Thanks for stopping by. I had read somewhere a couple of weeks ago that Hulu had episodes of "Glee" so I was like, "cool, I can catch up on what I missed". I don't know if I will be able to, but I'm going to try to catch up on what I missed before next week's episode.

The Chick Who Rocks the School Choir Like No One Else: Because of your singing background, I wouldn't be surprised if that allows you to appreciate "Glee" even more.

BeckEye: Resistance to climbing on the KC Train is futile. You may as well get your boarding pass now.

Arodrix: Good call! I was waiting for the Glee clubbers to get up and applaud after Kristin was done singing "Maybe This Time". It could be that they were too floored by her awesomeness to react.
