You got me - you found a Madonna song I've never heard. I just looked it up on Wikipedia and it said it was from Like a Prayer album. I really can't stand her anymore, but I won't criticize her voice (except maybe on this song :).
Thriving: One of the fun things about doing my show is that sometimes I have to do a little improv. Leading into the Now and Then segment, I did a tease ("on the way, music from The Material Girl"). The song I planned on playing by her was "Like A Virgin". However, I quickly discovered that I left "The Immaculate Collection" CD in one of my PC's disc drives (damn that short term memory of mine). Since I already did the tease, I had to come up with a substitute. Luckily, I had "Dear Jessie" on an 80s mix that I put together.
I had never heard "Dear Jessie" until I saw the video on VH-1 Classic about 5 years ago. Although it remained just an album track over here, it was released as a single in the UK and became a big hit.
You mentioned that you can't stand Madonna anymore. Was it something she recently did or a combination of things?
