Pjazzy's post was very good...and I understand that Madonna may seem unlikely to some people as a person to be indicted into R&R hall of fame...

Myself...being a big Madonna fan...I am pleased and I see her music within rock and roll..which for the last 40 years...most pop music is a genre of rock and roll.

Thanks for the reminder about tomorrows programming and this event I am very excited to see Iggy Pop cover some Madonna tunes...and to see the other incredible artists be honored.

Don't hate...congratualte!

Hey...Malcoem...I have recorded Pressure Point with Sidfney Poitier and Bobby Darin...we may watch it this afternoon or ina couple days and I'll make a post about it...

Thanks for the shout out. I am actually just as excited about Mellencamp and Gamble and Huff's inductions, but the Madonna's induction has a lot of people's noses bent out of shape. I really would have liked it if she would perform. That would be magic, much like Prince's performance upon his induction. I know she still has the goods.

Malcolm, thanks so much! I wouldn't have known about this event if I hadn't read your blog post and now I get to see Tom Hanks introduce one of my favs from my teeny-bopper years, The Dave Clark Five!!!

I'll probably end up posting about it on my my pop culture blog too, lol.

Thanks again, you rock!

I suspect part of the reason Madonna asked Iggy Pop to do some music is because she loves him...and he should also be indicted into the Hall of Fame?

Stagg (aka Candy): When it comes to the RRHOF, Pjazzy's level of passion is righ up there with mine. We often have lively talks about why certain people aren't in and others are. Those talks never get old to me.

I am looking forward to reading your post on "Pressure Point". I only hope I didn't build it up too much.

Pjazzy: No problem about the shout out. In addition to being a good read, your post reminded me to write this one. One of things that I hate about the announcement of the annual RRHOF induction ceremony in recent years is that the superstars get prominently mentioned in news stories, while lesser known inductees of the past get treated as afterthoughts. I feel the same way you do about Mellencamp and Gamble & Huff.

Pop Art Diva: Of all the inductees, I may actually be the most excited about the Dave Clark Five getting enshrined. I am curious to see who they will have sing the hits of the DC5.

Candy: If it wasn't for a post you wrote awhile ago, I wouldn't have known that Iggy opened for Madonna on her recent tour. Otherwise, I might have wondered why she chose him to sing her songs at the ceremony.
