But now, after all these years, the biggest mystery since "How many licks does it take to get to the Tootsie Roll center of a Tootsie Pop?" has finally been answered. In an interview that Tina and her husband Jeff Richmond gave for the January 2009 issue of Vanity Fair, Richmond says a stranger slashed Fey's face when she was 5 years old. He goes on to say that the incident occurred in the front yard of her house. To read the complete Vanity Fair interview, click here.
Oh well, now that we know the story behind Tina Fey's scar, it's on to the next mystery. Speaking of scars, I'm dying to know what's in Al Capone's vault. I think a certain mustachioed Fox News Channel personality is just the person who can get to the bottom of this.

You know I never paid attention to it until people started really talking about it this week.
I have to be honest, I never even noticed her scar until recently. I can imagine why she didn't want to talk about it, though. What a horrifying experience!
Wow, what a terrible attack. I am so shocked. I thought it was from a childhood accident...had no idea it was from a violent attack!

ROFL--When I read that--I almost died laughing! :)
I hadn't even noticed her scar until you said something about it. Sad about how she got it.
Chris and I had always wondered about that....what a freak thing to happen to a little girl.
I love that she didn't let something like that prevent her from becoming a huge success.
Mistress of the D: You should have seen the number of "Tina Fey's scar" keyword searches that led people to my blog.
The Rock Chick: I don't blame her either for staying silent about it. I can't remember what she said, but I wonder if she even remembers the incident.
Candy: I was thinking the same thing as you.
Jessica: I'm glad you enjoyed my closing paragraph to this post. I was struggling trying to come up with a wrap-up to this post when I remembered the Capone's vault fiasco.
