Nobody thinks of such things as jingles and TV themes as pop music, but in essence they are. People like Vic Mizzy were never famous, but their work is.
X. Dell: Sadly, I think that both jingles and TV themes are becoming a lost art. I can't even recall the last good jingle I've heard. Companies are content to plunk down money for a popular song instead of having a writer come up with something new.
I wonder if guys like Vic Mizzy ever realized the impact they had on pop culture.
