Because it would be too easy to say, "these remakes will all suck", I decided to put a positive spin on this poll. Although some remakes can be pointless, retelling a story isn't a bad idea in and of itself. Admittedly, the quartet of remakes featured in this poll aren't likely to make fans forget the 80s originals. On the other hand, there is the possibility that one or more of these remakes surpasses the original. After all, the 1941 version of The Maltese Falcon (the 3rd time the story was brought to the big screen) is by far the best.

I'm guessing Clash of the Titans will suck the least, because the original was so cheesy. The remake will probably at least be visually interesting. But no Burgess Meredith!! Boo.
I am actually looking forward to the remake of Nightmare on Elm Street. The original scared me more than any other movie I had ever seen. I made the mistake of saying that to some younger friends who had never seen it, so we decided to rent it. All I can say is if you have fond memories of the original, think long and hard before you watch it again. I am hoping the remake will remind me why I loved the original so much!
I am super geeked to see Clash of the Titans. Maybe it will suck but I have a feeling I will like it. Love the photo collage and poll!
I chose Clash of the Titans because it sucked the worst of the 80s movies listed ... therefore, the remake doesn't have that far to go to surpass it ...
I'm sorry..I just don't know about Karate Kid. Why did they go there?
BeckEye: I saw the promo for "Clash of the Titans" and the cheesiness of the original was nowhere to be found. It had the look of "300".
In case you have Turner Classic Movies, they are showing the original Clash on 3/26 at 10 pm EST.
Ann: I too have been disappointed at times when I revisited a movie/TV show that I enjoyed when I was younger. In regards to the remake, who ever thought that Kelly Leak from The Bad News Bears would one day play Freddy Krueger?!

I'm not up for any of these remakes. I'm better The Karate Kid is the one that sucks the most though.
