In honor of Paul Newman, Turner Classic Movies will air a tribute to the late actor on Sunday, October 12th, replacing the current scheduled programming with the following films:

6:00 PM Hud
8:00 PM Somebody Up There Likes Me
10:00 PM Cool Hand Luke
12:15 AM Cat on a Hot Tin Roof
2:15 AM Rachel, Rachel (Newman directed, but did not star, in this film)
4:00 AM The Outrage

p.s.(I wish they had The Verdict...I think Newman prefers many of his later films...he jokes about his early acting being too "big"...he was greatly influenced by his wifes superb acting and ability to get really into a character and appear seamless...)

Barbara: I think it was a good move to use this all-day tribute to spotlight some of his lesser known movies.
Candy: I was hoping they'd show "The Verdict" too since I've never seen it in its entirety. I had never heard that about him liking his later films better or how he was influenced by Joanne's acting ability. I'm glad you shared that.
