David Lee Roth belongs back with Van Halen. The greatest american rock band of all time should be better than this sad sad soap opera they have subjected us too over the last 15 years.
Bryan: As a heads up, Diamond Dave has been back with Van Halen for over a year now.
Really? Are you sure? Wow, this IS embarassing. I would like to change my comment to :
Axl Rose belongs back with Guns N Roses. The greatest american rock band of all time should be better than this sad sad soap opera they have subjected us too over the last 15 years.
(he's not back with them, is he????)
Bryan: Yes, I am sure. The return of DLR to the VH fold got a lot of press when it first happened. I guess that things have died down because there haven't been any major incidents of friction between the bandmates.
Dude, you are 0 for 2. Axl is still the lead singer for GNR and the only orig. member still with the fold. Now, your mention of Axl does bring up some good "write-in" candidates for the poll. I'll bet that there are many that wish that Slash, Duff, and Izzy would rejoin Axl in the GNR family.
I think you might have run out of acts to anoint the greatest American rock band of all time, lol.
Journey's my pick
Steve Perry or Lionel Ritchie.
Grrrrr. I'd like Suzanne Somers back on Three's Company.
I voted, but there is one I have above all of these: Peter Gabriel and Steve Hackett back with Genesis for a reunion tour. Ahhh ...
Bryan: Haven't you heard? Suzanne Somers is back on Three's Company. And The Beatles are back together. Oh yes, and Christopher Columbus went back to Ferdinand and Isabella's court.
The Chick Who Not Only Rocks, But Rolls: I saw Journey a couple of summers ago and they put on a really good show. However, I think it would have been that much better if Mr. Perry was handling lead vocal duties.
Pjazzy: I knew this would be a tough one for you. Although I didn't expect him to be leading the pack, I am surprised that Lionel Richie hasn't received any votes as of now.
Bryan: Although David is correct about Suzanne's reconnect with Three's Company, there is talk that she will be flying the coop to rejoin Patrick Duffy for another round of "Step By Step".
David: This is exactly why I included "Other" as an option in this poll. Your hope that Peter Gabriel and Steve Hackett rejoin Genesis is a damn good call on your part!
why do i feel like i'm about to get voted off the pop culture island? i promise to watch more vh1 so i can add some 'facts' to my usually wonderfully entertaining comments in the future.
I'd say Lionel Richie and the Commodores. I could see them making the most interesting music these days.
There are a few bands I never saw when I should have, and to this date I must say I would not want to see them unless...
Styx had Dennis Deyoung
Journey had Steve Perry
Chicago had Peter Cetera
I don't think any of these bands should reunite unless they have something to actually say/do! Most have lost their creativity and have nothing to say - it's just to get more money.
Bryan: If you don't come correct in regards to your disdain for most movies made before 1970, you might get voted off the island permanently. :-)
X. Dell: Around the time the Eagles first reunited in the late 90s, there was talk about Lionel Richie rejoining The Commodores. Although it isn't too late, time is running out.
Valtool: When we saw Journey a couple of summers ago, the vocalists they had subbing for Steve Perry were pretty good. Still, it would have been awesome if Steve had been fronting the band.
OGC: I'm not sure if it was clear, but all the bands in the poll are currently active (either touring or working on an album). The question of whether or not a reunited band has anything left in the creative tank is always a good source of a friendly debate. As much as I would like to see it, I respect the hell out of ABBA for not reuniting. It would have been easy for them to take the money (they were offered 1 billion to reunite a few years ago). However, they've gone on record as saying that anything they do now as a group would never live up to the fan's expectations.
Well, I voted for a Fleetwood reunion but I'm losing!
Rhiannon still goes through my head every time I think of college!
I'm tied between Cetera and McVie myself. Without them both bands are less than whole for me.
Um, lets see, Robbie robertson and The Band, but they have lost two members over the decades. I keep trying to think of some...like Scott Weiland and STP (which i think they might have reformed lately...?)
I need to spend a bit more time thinking...love this idea..
