I was just discussing my ongoing crush on Daryl Hall the other day - was that with you? I can't remember! I think it was a woman.

ANYHOW My absolute favorite is "She's Gone" followed closely by "Sarah Smile".

But since those were not listed you forced me to vote for another one :)

Speaking of Hall & Oates, they wrote a song that Justin Hayward recorded for his Night Flight CD. Its called I'm Sorry. It's a hoot and so not what Justin usually sings :)

Barbara: No, I wasn't the one you discussed your Daryl Hall crush with the other day. You'll have to tell me about it someday though.

As you may know, I am a big Hall and Oates fan. Because they have so many popular songs, I knew there was no way I could have a "Name your favorite Hall and Oates" song without having the poll consist of over 10 choices. That's when I came up with the idea to limit it to their #1 pop songs. By the way, which one did you choose?

Mistress of the D: The Justin Hayward/Hall and Oates connection sounds intriguing. Because it was a departure for Justin, I read online that Moody Blues fans weren't pleased with the "Night Flight" album.

I was teasing Chris when he put Sara Smile and Rich Girl on the ipod. But I LOVE Rich Girl now. Although I couldn't survive "on the old man's money" LOL

Hey..I was just coming over to say hi when I saw your visit at my blog...thanks!

I don't know if I can vote on this one...I'm not very familiar or a fan of this band...I'll have to work on this one okay?

Holly: Your comment about not being able to survive on the old man's money makes me think of the Anna Nicole Smith/J. Howard Marshall case. By the way, Hall and Oates do a mean version of "Rich Girl" in concert.

Candy: I read your profile and saw under Favorite Music you listed "old school". Depending on what you are referring to as "old school" (rap, R&B, etc.), you might enjoy some of the work of Hall and Oates.

I'm such a Hall & Oates junkie so this one was tough, lol. Private Eyes got my vote though.

I picked "Kiss Is on My List." Probably the late Janna Allen at her best.

Oh I love "Maneater" just for the lyrics.....a she-cat tamed by the purr of a jaguar! It speaks to my inner JessiCat!

"Rich Girl" is probably the best song there, but I love "Private Eyes." It was a big fave of mine when I was younger, although I thought for the longest time that they were singing, "Friday nights...they're watching you..."

Sarah: My favorite is "Private Eyes" too. I have seen Hall and Oates live three times and they didn't do that song at any of the shows! They still put on a great show though.

X. Dell: I used to not care for "Kiss On My List" too much. Over the years, it has started to grow on me.

Jessica: I turned one of my older brothers onto Hall and Oates a few years ago. I think that "Maneater" is his favorite song by them. I know that he likes the line "She's sitting with you, but her eyes are on the door".

Beckeye: I wonder if that misheard lyric from "Private Eyes" made it in the book "Scuse Me While I Kiss This Guy".

Oops, I'm sorry, I'm not very familiar with the answers to your poll - so I didn't pick any...

Happy Friday :-)

Frigga: You should check out Hall and Oates. To paraphrase a line from the old Life cereal commercial, "Try 'em, you might like 'em".

I have that book. I don't remember seeing it. No one called me before compiling it! :)
