Oh DD! I swear Justin Hayward wore the same outfit in the video for Blue World! Oh and I love the song Mary's Prayer! Great tunes this week!
Good play list, the Delegation, which is one of my all time favorites and you know how I like "Hey Nineteen". Believe it or not I played the Westbound # 9 on Friday night. Excellent show.
Mistress of the D: I just watched the video for "Blue World" on You Tube. Damn, you have a good eye because that does look like the same outfit that Simon wore in the "Rio" clip! I had never heard "Blue World" before, I like it. Also, it's nice to meet someone else who remembers "Mary's Prayer".
Pjazzy: I remember "Oh Honey" getting a lot of airplay on DZ 93 back in the day. That song still has one of the best grooves around. Barbara (aka Layla) requested "Hey Nineteen"... you can hardly go wrong with Steely Dan. That is a coincidence about Westbound #9.
I like Be Near Me, Heaven is a Place on Earth, and Instant Karma.
Holly: A friend of mine called to request "Be Near Me". It was funny because he didn't know the name of the song, but he did have some of the lyrics so we were playing a form of "Name That Tune" on the phone in order for me to figure it out.
Another caller requested "Come Together" by The Beatles. I told her that it was from the 60s, but I had some solo Beatle stuff that I could play. She said to "play something cool". I figured that "Instant Karma" fit the bill.
