Get Smart...The Love Guru looks so bad!
Did you read the EW article about Mike Myers this month? I had no idea that he has the reputation of being hard to work with. But, I have to admit that I loved the Austin Powers movies. We'll probably see Love Guru on DVD. Get Smart looks goofy to me but Chris wants to see it....

I think because of the nostalgia involved in Get Smart and the fans it will have a huge opening run. I want to see both movies...probably on some humid hot afternoon a matinee will be a good thing to do.
Mistress of the D: Both movies look to be iffy propositions. However, I have more faith in Get Smart.
Jessica: To me, there was maybe one funny line in the commercials for The Love Guru that they've been showing on TV.
Holly: Yes, I finished that Mike Myers article yesterday. I didn't know that he had such a bad reputation either. One of my favorite parts of the article is when Penelope Spheeris talks about how she put her daughter in charge of making sure that Mike had whatever snack he wanted at any given moment.
Chris sounds like he might be a fan of the series Get Smart (either that or he just likes Steve Carell). Anyway, if he did like the show, he might appreciate my T13 this week.
Barbara: I am a bit surprised that Get Smart is thoroughly trouncing The Love Guru in this poll. This makes me even more interested to see how both of them fare at the box office.
Pop Art Diva: Get Smart is one of my favorite shows and Don Adams is near the top of my list of comedic actors. When it came to physical comedy, he was one of the best.
Candy: I have a feeling that many fans of the series (me included) might have issues with the movie version of Get Smart. Although I won't be going opening weekend, I will probably check it out when I'm on vacation in a few weeks.
Yes. Chris loved that show. And now that I've seen more clips I want to see the movie too.
This morning on Regis and Kelly they showed a clip of Regis years ago on "Get Smart" . He was playing a baker or chef (complete with the tall hat) and he must have been the bad guy b/c it was revealed that he was hiding some sort of spyware in a loaf of bread. :)
Holly: I have that ep. with the Regis cameo on tape. I can't remember if he was working for KAOS or CONTROL. I'm going to take a look at it tonight.
As Chris can probably tell you, Get Smart used to have some pretty cool cameos. Some of the stars who appeared include: Johnny Carson (twice), Bob Hope, Phyllis Diller, Martin Landau, Milton Berle, and Danny Thomas.
I am so excited ot see Get Smart... I loved that show when I was younger
I'll probably wind up seeing both, but "Get Smart" has such a built-up market.

Motherhood For Dummies: I don't know if you have read any of the movie reviews, but the one I read was mixed. If you haven't already, you may want to prepare yourself for the movie not living up to the series.
X. Dell: It also helps that they cast Steve Carell in the title role. His name will pull in his fans who have never even seen an episode of the series.
I'm sure Get Smart will be stupid. As for Austin Powers part 4, I'm sure they'll be soem hoo haws. My vote is for the latter.
Dr. Zibbs: Finally, someone who voted for "The Love Guru" has stepped forward. I just read a news story about Friday's box-office tally. According to estimates, Get Smart took in $13.35 million while The Love Guru scraped up just $5.4 million. Ouch!
