Top 5 On Friday- Week 179

Top 5 On Friday - Week 179

This week's topic is brought to you by the sister of The Mistress of the Dark.

Top 5 postal songs- I like the challenge that the Mistress of the D has posed: come up with five songs without using that obvious song done by a girl group in the 60s that was covered by both the Beatles as well as the Carpenters.

1. Twistin' Postman by The Marvelettes

2. Zip Code by The Five Americans

3. Roll Over Beethoven by Chuck Berry (opening lyrics: I'm gonna write a little letter, gonna mail it to my local DJ...)

4. Because I Love You (The Postman Song) by Stevie B.

5. Return To Sender by Elvis Presley

I have not heard one or two of these. BUT I will look them up later. Don't you just love the Internet :)

Happy Friday.

'Return to Sender' - Hail to The King, baby!

Great list!

Mistress of the D, Polly, and Michael: I have a feeling that "Return To Sender" was the common tune for everyone who participated.

Natsthename: Most people wouldn't know it because the song that oldies radio plays by them is "Western Union", but The Five Americans had some other sizable hits in the 60s (including Zip Code).

Shannon: Yes, I do love the 'Net. I was wondering, which ones hadn't you heard?
