Happy Birthday Dick Clark!

Dick Clark turned 80 years old today. When I think of Dick Clark, lots of sounds and images come to mind. As I type this, "Bandstand Boogie" is playing on a continuous loop in my head... and that's a good thing because it's got a good beat and... well, you know the rest.

Below is a clip of the "Oldest Living Teenager" encountering The Dynamic Duo:

For some reason he seems a lot older to me. One of my earliest memories is was watching the show from Philadelphia (the American Dreams version) with all of the white dancers. Rosetta and Ronald would brag about how they could go on the show and out dance everybody. It wasn't likely to happen for three reasons: 1) The show was segregated; 2) It was in Philadelphia (we were in Michigan) and 3) Neither of them were setting the world on fire in the dance department (especially Rosetta) lol. In retrospect, the dancers on the show weren't that great either.
