I'm stuck in the middle of two categories here....I sit thru The Super Bowl because hubby loves to watch it. No matter how many football games I watch, though, I can't quite figure the game out. So, I sit there and watch a little bit, but I read or browse the internet while the game is on.

I do watch the commercials, though :)

Sorry, I picked the "I don't watch the superbowl" of course, if I happen to be where it's on I might occaissionally pay attention. And if my Chargers had made it, then I'm pretty sure I'd watch.

Happy Monday :-)

That is one cool pic you found there!

I said I don't watch the SuperBowl but I sometimes do....I will try to Catch TP at halftime. What about you, I want to know your answer!

Jessica: I give you credit for at least sitting through the game for the sake of your husband.

Frigga: The Chargers were one of my favorite teams during the Dan Fouts/Kellen Winslow era of the 1980s.

Barbara: Thanks...I'm glad you liked the pic. For me, my favorite part of the Super Bowl is the game itself. In those years when the game is a blowout, the commercials and the halftime show definitely help.

Hey Malcolm! Sorry I haven't checked in for a while, been busy blogging myself, lol.
You know, the best part of the Super Bowl for me was always the Apple Ads - and those I can see without having to sit through a football game.
Hope all you football fans enjoy though - me, I shall be having a martini and watching a movie.

I had a difficult time with this question. I like all of it...but if there is a halftime show that I like the performer I am very excited. I can't imagine a half time show that will ever compare to Prince.

A couple years ago watching the game I started phoning people...can you believe that? I asked...they were like "what?" I said...oh you'll hear about it...next day "the nipple" was all we heard about. Anybody remember who won that year?

But...oddly...the commercials over th years have often stayed with me...I always remember that first Mac commercial it was haunting like 1984 scenario...years before people would have computers in their homes. I loved the Desperate Housewives commercial, the David Letterman/Oprah ad...

So I had to choose ads...because it's one of the very few times I don't fast forward the recordings and I stay in front of the tv. The chili can wait...

Go Giants! I love watching the game! Luckily I can follow the game pretty well! It's the game that matters!

I just voted. I never watch it, or any other sporting event. I can't imagine anything more dull than sport.

Pop Art Diva: Wow, it's been a long time. I am glad you stopped by because I had lost track of your blog. So are you watching a DVD or a movie on TV? I see that Turner Classic Movies has some counter-programming on Super Bowl Sunday.

Candy: I totally agree with you about Prince's performance being the best halftime show. The Letterman/Oprah promo was perfect because the two teams playing that year just happened to be the cities that each of them are associated with... plus it was so surprising given their long-rumored feud. Because we aren't likely to see another perfect season anytime soon, I am pulling for the Patriots to win. I am also fans of Brady and Moss.

David: Sure, it counts.

The Teach: Although the commercials and halftime show are cool, the game is the main thing for me too.

Nicholas: You sound like one of my ex-girlfriends. A couple of years ago, I had an extra ticket to a Detroit Pistons playoff game. Taking her would have been a last resort because she said that she would have brought a book to read during the game!

I just kinda watch all the games and am half interested in the commercials. The whole thing is very american to me. The half - time shows and all the over hyped media attention is now beyond circus levels. On a news radio station yesterday a marketing professor said the commercials don't work..so the future may hold non-commercial pay per view superbowl channels?!
