It's True... The Spice Girls Are Reuniting

Old Spice anyone? Well whether or not you "really really want" them to, The Spice Girls are reuniting. On Thursday, the "Girl Power" quintet announced that they'll be getting together for 11 shows around the world in December and January. In addition to the concerts, the group also plans to make their first official documentary for TV broadcast and will be releasing their first greatest hits collection.

Like I said in an earlier post, I don't see a demand for a Spice Girls reunion. However, there might be a large segment of their original fans who want to relive their youth. That's the way I felt when The Monkees got back together in the 1980s and I know many of their non-fans were wondering "Why??" Who knows, maybe this crazy world we live in could use some spice... at least for a little while. Besides, things could be worse... just think if Color Me Badd decided to foist themselves on the world again!

The Monkees are icons, not the Beatles or the Stones, but at least Herman's Hermits. Definitely apart of the 60's British invasion. I am not a huge fan of that genre; however when I was a kid (I know I am dating myself) I never missed a chance to catch their Monday night show, which was on in prime time on NBC. The Spice Girls are not nearly in the same league. Good luck to them and please don't give Color Me Badd any ideas. By the way here is a bit of trivia, one of the member of Color Me Badd married Tamyra Gray of American Idol fame.

When I was typing the last sentence of that post, I was thinking the same thing (about hopefully not giving CMB any ideas). When I 1st heard about Sam Watters and Tamyra Gray getting married, I said, "How did the Kenny G lookalike from CMB land her?!"

If you ever tell anyone I'll deny it, but I always liked that song "really really want."

Hello Frigga: your secret is safe with me.

Hey Frigga,

I liked "What I Really Really Want" also. Not enough to buy it, but it was a catchy little number. Still I am baffled by this reunion.
