On Saturday May 3rd, I did a post about the 75th anniversary of James Brown's birthday. Holly (a regular visitor and commenter whose blog is titled Mama Pajama) mentioned that one of her favorite JB tunes is "Get Up Offa That Thing". Holly added that Ellen Degeneres dances to this tune all the time. Since I am at work during the day and don't record "The Ellen Degeneres Show", I don't see it often. However, when I do watch, one of my favorite parts is when Ellen dances after her monologue.
Holly's comments led me to pay a visit to cyber crack (aka You Tube) and see if there were any clips of Ellen dancing available. Here is a montage of clips of Ellen dancing, set to "Get Up Offa That Thing". Props to lunaep11 for putting the montage together. Just watching this makes me smile... I hope it does the same for you.

LOVE Ellen, but normally don't have time to watch. These clips are great! :)
What a neat surprise! I'm so glad you were able to find a clip featuring this song with Ellen. Cameron enjoyed listening to it on the computer just now, too. I think he recognized it from watching Ellen at lunchtime! It's such an uplifting song - and great for working out as well.
Jessica: Although I could be wrong, Ellen just seems to be a "what you see is what you get" type of person. That's one of the reasons that I like her.
Holly: I love surprising people, seriously. The stuff available on You Tube never ceases to amaze me. There were quite a few "Ellen dancing" clips, so I will be back for more.
I adore Ellen! I agree with you, Malcolm. I believe she is genuine and "what you see is what you get" and personally, I think she is a riot!!! I don't get to see her show often, but I've enjoyed it every time I have.
Ellen was here taping in Chicago last weekend and tickets to her show were in hot demand. I think there was only like 800 available. They had set up a camera downtown prior to her arrival where people could dance on the camera for Ellen. They showed tidbit on the news and it was hysterical!
I poked around to see if I could find it online, but haven't been able to...if I find a link, I'll send it to you-you'll get a kick out of it!
OK, since we're on the topic of Ellen, I have to tell everybody about what I think have been some of her funniest bits ever....When she went in to "spa rooms" with ladies that were blindfolded and then she pretended to be an "awful" massage therapist or whatever. For some reason those just tickle my funny bone. I'm going to go check and see if anybody has youtubed those....
Here's one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lGsZt4m5YFw
The Chick That Knows How To Rock: As hot as Ellen's show is right now, I'll bet that it was pandemonium in the Windy City. If you find the link and can send it to me, I'll really appreciate it.
Holly: Thanks for including the link to the clip. When Ellen was spelling her "name", it sounded like she was pulling letters out of her ass... which made it even funnier. I also liked the "ham and cheese" facial.
