Below is an extended 1965 commercial (about 5 and a half minutes) that features the stars of "Bonanza", "The Man from U.N.C.L.E.", and "Bewitched" pitching the new lineup of Chevrolet cars. It's weird to see Lorne Greene, Pernell Roberts, Dan Blocker, and Michael Landon in their western setting talking about "modern" automobiles. Another unexpected kick is when the stars of "Bewitched" meet up with the men of "Bonanza".
Holiday cheer.

Let's see what happens in the new year with this Elon Musk presidency. It
should be very interesting.

What a blast from the past! The only ones still alive in that promo are maybe Pernell Roberts and a man or two from U.N.C.L.E. (I didn't keep track of them). I was around during the initial airing of these commercial. Great memories!
Pjazzypar took the words right out of my mouth. The death toll in that commercial staggered me too.
Back in the Sixties, TV shows often incorporated their sponsors' commercials into the storyline. These were kinda like product placements, but far less subtle, often parroting the slogans, mottos, and copy of the regular advertisements.
When you watch old shows on TVLand, they've cut out those ad scenes. Not only do they eliminate advertising not paid for, but they also allow more time for new ads, the ones that pay the bills.
So seeing these old actors hawking Chevys isn't really new to me. It's an extended blast into the past.
Pjazzy: I am glad that I spent a few extra minutes searching on You Tube, otherwise I probably wouldn't have found this clip.
Yup, only Pernell Roberts and Robert Vaughan are still alive. Robert's U.N.C.L.E. co-star (David McCallum) is alive, but wasn't in the promo.
X. Dell: I understand why stations/syndicators edit them out, but it would be cool to see the orig. sponsors of classic TV shows when watching them in reruns. Every once in awhile, a channel will show the orig. print. Example: about a year ago, ION (at least I think it was them) showed reruns of the Beverly Hillbillies. During the closing credits, you could see the images of various Kelloggs products such as Corn Flakes.
