I love Goodbye To You! We both did a mostly classic rock theme too :)

Those are great songs. Made me feel great singing them after we broke up. The problem was that it was effective for a few days.

Twang does seem to be my thing this week :) I was raised listing to country music and now and then (as an adult) I listen to it. I guess I am just in the "remember the good old days" mood.

Happy Friday!

I am a fan of Teddy's but I wouldn't have ever thought of that song, good call.

I didn't even think about the Ray Charles song, but "Hit the Road Jack" is a classic. Great list!

Mistress of the D: Scandal had some pretty good tunes. "Goodbye To You" is one of those tunes that has "80s" written all over it.

Mad Hatter: It's funny how music has the ability to help or hurt somebody in regards to a breakup.

Bitter Betty: "This Diamond Ring" is one of those tunes that I never get tired of hearing.

Simply Shannon: Thanks! In the early 90s when I subscribed to Music Choice, I got heavily into classic country music of the 40s, 50s, and 60s. I really enjoyed songs by artists like Eddy Arnold, Connie Smith, Hank Williams Sr, Buck Owens, Loretta Lynn, Kitty Wells, and "Tennessee" Ernie Ford just to name a few.

Pjazzy: Thanks! That is one of my faves by TP.

Michael: I can't remember how it came to me, but it dawned on me that "Hit the Road Jack" would be perfect.

Holly: Good call on upbeat breakup songs. It's funny how the tempo of some songs makes you forget their subject matter.

Moody Mistress: I found out a couple of years ago that Gary Lewis and the Playboys did not do "This Diamond Ring" originally. Apparently, it was some obscure R&B song before... I haven't been able to find it though.
